Happy 1st Birthday to Polkadots & Chopsticks! Yay! We made it!
So the road has been a bit bumpy at times, I finally got the blog moved to a new service provider. Crossing fingers that I have no more issues with it running slow.
For about a month I’ve been pondering what to have for my 1 year blog post and it wasn’t till a couple of days ago that I made a decision.
I’ve only been blogging for a year now but a lot has got me to where I am today. In my later teenage years I was in a bit of a pickle with my life and the Samaritans in Newcastle were there to put me on the right track. Now, I’m not religious in the least but this particular organisation does amazing things for the youth in the Newcastle and Hunter region.
Samaritans however don’t just care and aid youth with problems but pretty much everyone from single young mothers to families and mental health problems.
I really want to share this with everyone to make more people aware of the great help they give every day, perhaps make a donation as every dollar goes towards those that are in need of help, whether it’s a family struggling with financial problems, homeless youth that need a guide in life or people experiencing employment problems due to lack of education.
So my birthday blog post is not so much about me, as it is about helping someone else. Or if you have a particular charity or cause that is close to your heart I’d ask (ever so politely and not forceful at all) to think about making a small donation on today, my 1st birthday, to help someone else get to this part in their life where they’re doing something they enjoy and are happy with life.
