Polkadots & Chopsticks is a Sydney based food blog with recipes, experiences and cooking from the heart.
I’m April and first, I’d like to thank you for stopping by!
At 20-some years old I’m still working on achieving all the dreams and goals that I have my heart set on. But in the meantime I like to share my passion for food with the world and take a journey together learning as much about food as possible, all while working your typical week as an accounts administrator. Although I’m perfectly happy at my job, accounting is not something I ever pictured myself doing.
We all had dreams as a kid, great ideas of what you wanted to be when you grew up! I had a few ranging from magician to singer, to olympic gymnast and archeologist.
The one that stuck with me though, was a wedding planner (or events co-ordinator).
I’ll admit, it was the movie with J.Lo as The Wedding Planner that actually captured my interest in the area.
As time goes on though, we change our goals and tweak them a bit to what really makes us happy.
What makes me happy? Food.
Don’t get me wrong – I have a lot of other passions and interests as well as food, most which fit into the category of creativity.
In the words of George Calambaris, “the feeling when you put a plate of food down in front of someone and their whole face lights up”
That, my dears, is exactly how I feel.
If you’re a fellow food lover or just an admirer of my rambles, I’d love to hear from you!
Whether it’s just a casual hello or your opinion on something you’ve seen here, or an exchange of ideas, don’t be shy! Drop us a line!
If you have a product or place you would like me to take a gander at and give my opinion I’d be most happy for you to send me an email through.
Please be aware, I write what I feel which may not be to everyone’s liking. If I ever accept a product (or anything else for that matter) for free to review I will gladly share my thoughts with whoever I received it before posting on my site. I want both of us to be happy.
Any posts which come from these will be noted that it was sent to me for that purpose for all to read.
