This is the first year I've had the pleasure of trying the famous Mooncakes which are shared between family and friends during the mid-autumn festival each year.
The below is a lotus paste 2 yolk mooncake, purchased from Mao Sheng Asian Supermarket in Dee Why.
There is about 3 or 4 Asian grocers along this stretch of the Northern Beaches, Mao Sheng being the only one that carries Mooncakes.
And these below are the beautiful Casahana Over-The-Moon Four Seasons box of mooncakes, which I won from the Grab Your Fork giveaway earlier this week. Oh excitement is running through my veins!
The box contained four different flavours. Golden Baked Lemon Tea, Red Yeast Sweet Potato, Matcha Red Bean and Oriental Pearl.
I always look forward to mooncake season! I leave the egg yolk ones to my mum though and prefer the yolk less ones
I've never heard of these! I can't get over how pretty they are!
I'm so impressed by the variety of colours, shapes and flavours of mooncakes these days! They have really gone commercial but hopefully they taste great too!
Oh yum! I didn't get around to buying mooncakes this year. I guess it's too late now.
